In 1972, Ken became
sole proprietor of his
family's 25 acre estate. With numerous years of working with horses,
Ken began a
Horse Drawn Carriage Service, traveling throughout the State of CT
enhancing weddings, parades & other special events.
Ken is also a seasoned Blacksmith
who
maintains our six draft horses. He is the
Senior Carriage driver for
events off the farm. For recreation, he enjoys friends and playing
basketball. |
After spending numerous years in the Food/Hospitality
Industry in CA., Joyce became a profound asset to the business. In
1986, she
brought
a vision of greater things
to the farm. She is the creator of
Country Weddings and is responsible for Tours, coordinating
Weddings and special events both on and off the farm.
As
Director
of Marketing,
she is always thinking of new and creative ideas to improve the
farm! She has three adult
children and one grandson. |
Daniel is the
5th Generation
at the Wood Homestead. He began driving horses at age four and is
the head Carriage Driver for
Country Weddings
on the farm. Dan also prepares & drives horses/equipment for special events off
the farm. He is responsible for
maintaining all 25 acres of trails used for
horse drawn hayrides, sleigh rides and carriage rides as well as
keeping the lawns looking their best! Dan is a NETTS graduate and
spends his spare time with friends. |

Judy (aka Jude) has been a special part of the
Wood family since 1997!
She volunteers with multiple duties on the farm, such as;
* Assisting Joyce
with
the gardens
* Upkeep of the Banquet Barn
* Jude, aka the Pied Piper
is a true animal lover! We depend on her Vet Tech expertise for
guidance with the horses, when necessary. |
With her solid
background in banking and insurance and a Bachelors in
Business
Management, Michelle is currently responsible for
Accounts Payable.
With her Masters in Education, she recently became a teacher in the
Bristol School System. Michelle is a Plymouth resident and she and
her fiancé Brandon are looking forward to celebrating their wedding at the farm
this summer! |
AnnMarie is a Terryville resident. She is a
Freshman at Tunxis
Community College, where
she is working hard for a career in Teaching. Her remarkable computer skills
are an asset to us in the
office and her upbeat, friendly personality
makes working together a pleasure! AnnMarie assists Joyce
with Country Weddings and events on the farm. She's our Anna-Banana! |

interior design, Donna has an eye for details.
She assists with Weddings off site,

the crew a good meal, after a hard days work! She is a Meriden
resident &
loves her sister Joyce! |
Ryan is currently a resident of Plymouth, CT He assists
us Part Time with major events and projects on the farm, as
well as special. events off site. Ryan 'finally' joined
The Chevy Club! |
Annabel loves the farm! She takes pride in
assisting Joyce with Tours and chasing 'Jake Brake' around. She is a
Southington resident. |
