My Country Wedding is a set of notes about getting married somewhere that is not a hotel: a barn, a marquee, a field belonging to somebody's uncle.

Almost everything written about weddings assumes a venue that comes with a kitchen, a car park, power and staff. Take those away and the problems change completely. The flowers wilt, the field bogs, the generator is undersized, and nobody has decided who rings the marquee company when it rains. None of that is romantic and all of it decides how the day goes.

So the bias here is practical and the tone is unsentimental. There is plenty of inspiration elsewhere.
